Who wouldn’t know Jessica Soho as the host of the news magazine program Kapuso Mo, Jessica Soho on GMA Network, and her other roles making her one of the well-known broadcast journalists in the Philippines? She has become the familiar face of stories that would always get us hooked.

She has always been a natural storyteller. I remember growing up watching KMJS, and until now, her way of telling stories would still seem easy to understand. She always has ways to catch our eyes and ears where we wanted to be immersed in her story.

“One thing I have always been consistent on whenever students and our reporters and staff come to me for advice: read. You have to know stuff if you want to write or produce content.” — Jessica Soho

As an aspiring storyteller, she is truly an inspiration. Aside from her countless awards as a broadcast journalist, I also admire her methods and stories of her influences. She mentioned that she came from a family of good storytellers, and telling the best stories was almost a competition or sport for them. This has taught me more about how good storytellers came to be. If we really want to teach, engage, and influence others, we should be telling or listening to stories and inspire others to tell a story with us.
